Miscarriage is the loss of a pregnancy that occurs within the first 20 weeks. Miscarriage is also known as spontaneous abortion, it is common among many women. Nevertheless, there are still many misconceptions about this. Perhaps you still remember in 2015 when Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg and his wife, Priscilla Chan, announced that they are waiting for a baby after Priscilla miscarried three times.

Siobhan Dolan, MD, MPH (professor of obstetrics gynecologist and women's health at Albert Einstein College of Medicine and Montefiore Medical Center in Bronx, New York, and a medical adviser to the March of Dimes) said that, miscarriage is much more common than many people think. Meanwhile, Sarah Prager, MD (professor of obstetrics and gynecology and director of the division of family planning at the University of Washington School of Medicine in Seattle) said that, a lot of miscarriages occur before women realize they are pregnant. A third of women will have a miscarriage in one or some point in their lives.

Here are 7 types of women prone to miscarriage:

1. Aged over 35 years. Women aged over 35 years have a higher risk of miscarriage than younger women. At that age, women are more likely to contain a baby with chromosomal abnormalities (such as Down's syndrome), where it could trigger a miscarriage.

2. Addicted to caffeinated beverages. Are advised to limit consumption of caffeine when you're pregnant. High levels of caffeine per day during pregnancy can lead to miscarriage. Caffeine can also increase blood pressure and heartbeat. Both of these conditions are not good for health when pregnancy period. So, if you include those who like caffeinated beverages such as coffee, tea, chocolate, soft drinks and energy drinks, yuk, limit eating them when the two entities. The dose of the recommended daily caffeine consumption during pregnancy is 200 mg per day.

3. Smokers, alcoholics and drug addicts. Inside the cigarette contains thousands of toxic substances can enter the blood vessels and then directly to the fetus in the womb. These substances, such as carbon monoxide and nicotine, can increase your risk of experiencing health problems to miscarriages. It is advisable for a total stop smoking, because there is no safe limit cigarette smoking while pregnant.

It's also applies to alcoholics. Until now, experts do not know the safe limit for pregnant women to consume alcoholic beverages. So, it is advisable not to consume alcohol at all during pregnancy, in order to avoid the risk of having a miscarriage. The reason is, alcoholic beverages can be directly absorbed by the baby in the womb. In fact, her organs have not been able to process alcohol, as bodies do.

4. Abnormal body weight. Pregnant women who have a body too thin, or too fat has been associated with the risk of miscarriage is higher than women who had normal weight.

5. Have had a previous miscarriage. Women who have miscarried twice or more in a row, more likely to lose the fetus in subsequent pregnancies.

6. Suffering from chronic diseases. Women who suffer from chronic diseases or long-term could be a higher risk of miscarriage in the second trimester of pregnancy. Examples of chronic diseases include diabetes (if poorly controlled), kidney disease, severe high blood pressure, or lupus.

7. The distance between pregnancies too close. If the distance between giving birth and the next pregnancy about 3 months, then you are at high risk of having a miscarriage.

If you belong to one of seven types of women at the top, do not grieve.
